Contrary to what most people believe Divorce and remarriage is NOT allowed.
 
Most people think that in Mathew 5v32 that Jesus was allowing divorce and remarriage. He was not.
 
32But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
 
This is how we know that He did not allow it,
 
1) The Lord always agreed with the Lord God.
2) God stated in Malachi 2 that He hated( hates ) divorce and remarriage.
3) Jesus stated in the other versions of the teachings in the Gospels ( matthew 19v9 , Luke 16v18, Mark 10 1- 12) that anyone ( wheather saved or not saved) that divorces their spouse and remarries committs and is an adulterer.
Furthermore they that marry the dumped spouse comitts adultery as in Leviticus 20v10.Where the spouse that is dumped is exempt as they that depart let them dapart for God has called us to Liberty.
 
Matthew 5v32 ,spoke of divorce under engagements.
Let me explain. Under Judaic Law engaged, betrothed couples were considered all but married couples, they were married but single. I.e untill the day of the final wedding ceremony are the couples allowed to move in together. In between that time, if anyone of the couples committ a fornication ( as oppossed to adultery as they are not yet married) then the other partner ( normally) the man can issue a *GET ( divorce certificate) as one would have under the Law to divorce the betrothed.
It was this that the Lord was referring to , with of course His earthly parents ( Mary and Joseph) Matthew 1v18 -19
 
 
John the Baptist preached the unlawfulness of it to Herod and Herodias.
 
What then of the Saints that have remarried ? We pray that the Lord delivers them before they meet Him as it is not allowed.
 

IS DIVORCE ALLOWED ?
 
SHORT ANSWER NO.
NOT UNDER GRACE IT IS NOT.
BETTER FOR A MAN/WOMAN TO HAVE AN AFFAIR THAN TO DIVORCE THEIR FIRST SPOUSE AND MARRY THE PERSON THEY ARE HAVING THE AFFAIR WITH.
 
NOT THAT I GIVE PERMISSION TO ANY MAN TO DO SO.
WHAT IS BEST IS FOR THEM OF COURSE NOT TO DIVORCE OR HAVE AFFAIRS BUT IF PUSH SHOULD COME TO SHOVE...
 
LET me show you what I mean.
 
The Word of GOd states in Malachi 2 that He hates divorce as a man or woman that divorces their spouse and remarrys covers their robes with violence. No matter how nice or pleasant that person ( divorcer that has remarried)  may see, GOD has labelled them as one whose robe is filled with Violence.
In Heaven if that person is a Saint the Holy Angels might refer person x as one whose robe is filled with violence as God has declared it so. To labour the point home.
 
They in effect are not walking in the Law of Christ Jesus THE LAW OF LOVE AS THEIR ROBES ARE FILLED WITH VIOLENCE.
 
So for that & other reason(s) God says that He hates it.
 
Q) Why be silly and do the things that He that is in Heaven ( a place where you want to get to) hates?
 
BLESSED AND SMART(WISE) ARE THEY THAT DO THINGS THAT PLEASE HIM.
 
4 REASONS WHY A MARRIED PERSON THAT HAS AN AFFAIR is in a better position than ONE THAT DIVORCED AND REMARRIED.
 
1) They are keeping their oaths to their wives and not doing something that God hates ( not that He is a fan of classical adultery either but it is the lesser of the 2 evils.)
 
2) NOt only is the robe of the divorcer that has remarried one of violence but it is filthy as Divorce and remarriage is NOT the rightoueness of the Lord God, it is written that our rightouesness is like a filthy rag.
 
3) The cheating spouse is still under Grace where there is Help and the Blood , the divorcer and remarried is under the Law, where if you break one title you have broken them all and where if you do not do all of what is written the person is cursed.
 
4)Husband is still as the Head of the family & Families stay together.
 In situtations where there are children in the marriage, the cheating spouse although a "stannnnkin'" louse still is the head of the household and of course the children stay together rather than be split up. 
 
The Bible says that a husband ( 1 corinthians 7 ) must not divorce their wives, the spiritual consequences is that they are no longer the head of their households and therefore have access to the God head that God has set all men to have, as God does not recognise the second marriage based upon divorce as a marriage.

MALACHI 2 V 14 - 16.
 
 
v: Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

 15And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

 16For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

HARD QUESTIONS..
 
Can a divorced spouse come back to the first spouse "in repentence" when they see that they made a mistake in their divorce and remarriage?
 
Ans: Yes if they confess that divorce and remarriage is NOT allowed. They cannot come back just for coming backs sake as Satan will come to them again and they will leave their post of Righteousness...
 
Some churches say that they cannot as the regulations of divorce states so in
.Deutronomy 24v4:
Jesus the end of the Law for Rightouesness unto them that beleive states that Divorce and remarriage is NOT allowed nor therefore any regulations of it.

They that marry them that are dumped they are also adulterers...

many Saints say 'Surely it is better to remarry than to be sleeping around.

The Word of God and Grace says No it is not.

They that remarry Grace has called ADULTERERS, and they fall under breaking thier oath which adds to the sin of adultery places them under the Law oh oh,,,there are the rest of the commandements on the floor!

The bible declares that He that does the Will of God the Father abides in Heaven for ever. Apostles etc declare that there are 4 WILLS of GOD,
a) HIs SOVEREIGN will- everything happens in the Universe.
b) Gods UNIVERSAL will - for all men to be saved, ALL Israel to be saved.
c) Gods GENERAL WILL
d) Gods PARTICULAR or SPECIFIC WILL - Jesus had to go to the Cross to buy back.e.g Joseph had to be the father of Jesus, Mary had to conceive, further back, David had to marry Bathsheba. Specific wills are often based on a promise that has gone on before. God promised to Father Abraham etc, God promised the fathers of Mary and Bathsheba who served as the Lord in the Temple....
 
The case for : OBEYING THE VOICE OF THE LORD ( it is better not to have heard than to have heard and turned.)
 
MARRIAGE and calling where to live are often linked to THE PROMISE which GOd had already previously sworn and or promised.THAT IS WHY IT IS A CALLING/PROMISE.
 
Marriages are set by the Lord.( It is the Lord God that sets the solitary within the Families King David tells us...)There are many testimonies  - Pastors that have been told by the Holy Spirit either through a witness or voice -  who their spouses are: eg. Dave Meyer, Pastor of Rhema Word and others.. Some people hold the view that matters on marriage is not important and God leaves that to the person to decide.
 
Whilst it is the case that the scripture does point to the fact that the question of marriage is can be ordained by the Lord. Rebecca and Isaac, Hosea and Gomer, Joseph and Mary. It is clear that the ordination of the marriage becomes a calling only when one has asked to know God's will in the matter.( it is better not to have known that to have known and turned.)
 
Q: What then to do if one knew about the calling of the Lord concerning marriage and one is already in a marriage?.
A: You wait for the Lord to make a way.Thank the Lord for the predicatment that you are in (Give thanks to the Lord in ALL things Good bad and ugly) and let God work it out for you.
Yea being yea, no being no: Often it a couple is called to marriage it will happen as God has His own will and plans for the Nations which He will do. What He orders He always gets as His Son has picked up the bill.
 
GODLY PATTERNS IN GODLY MARRIAGES.
 
- AGE.
When the Lord replied to the Pharasees on whether Divorce and remarraige was allowed the argument was taken back to the garden of Eden.
Where Adam was first formed and then Eve.
The Patriachs (men ) were all older than their wives and even concubines ( Hagar & co). Joseph was older than virgin Mary.
 
God set that Husbands are to love their wives as the Lord Loves(Loved) the church and gave up His Life for her. We are told that Jesus is the first born of many joint heirs...Can a husband be younger than his wife and walk inthe Godly command to love his wife? Can an older woman submitt to the younger  husband giving him honour and respect etc?..........
